The report is a compilation of current knowledge about the watershed, and is intended to create a common understanding of the current condition of watershed resources among stakeholders to support and advance work of the SRWI collaboration.

Indicators of watershed condition were used to measure and assess conditions using established targets and thresholds where possible.
The Swan River SOW Report also identifies gaps in the current understanding of watershed resources, and recommends next steps that may be taken with respect to watershed management planning, monitoring and stewardship activities.
The Swan River SOW Report is intended to be:

• A credible resource that reflects current science and knowledge about the Swan River watershed
• Used as a tool to support collaborative watershed management and planning in the Swan River watershed.
• An inspiration to readers to maintain and improve the state of the Swan River watershed for future generations.
