2024 Summary

In our pilot year, the Otauwau River (OTR01A) and the Upper Swan River (SWR01A) sites were sampled for the first time. The benthic samples were preserved and sent to taxonomists at ABI Environmental, and water quality samples were collected and sent to Bureau Veritas lab in Edmonton, AB.

Invertebrate, water quality and habitat data are housed in the CABIN Data Base and Water Quality Data can be viewed on Mackenzie Data Stream under the project “Lesser Slave Bio Aquatic Monitoring Program”.

2025 Summary

In 2025 the program expanded to sample 6 sites on tributaries of Lesser Slave Lake, shown on the map above.
