About the Program

With support from the provincial Watershed Restoration and Resiliency grant program and our municipal partners, the LSWC has been working with landowners support and fund on the ground projects that build watershed resiliency, promote knowledge exchange and collaborations since 2016.  

Agricultural producers, acreage owners, and lakeshore property owners are eligible for funding to implement activities that build watershed resiliency to flood and drought. This can include things like:

The partnership process involves:

  • Reaching out to the LSWC to talk about your ideas and ensuring alignment with the program
  • Creating a project plan, map and budget
  • Entering into a project agreement with the LSWC and implementing your project
  • Post project monitoring and on going support.

Funding is available now for 2026 projects in
Big Lakes County and the MD of Lesser Slave River
